Every time I open the program I get the following error message.

Can't call method "new" on an undefined value at get_iplayer.pl line 1688

I've tried an uninstall/reinstall but no joy.

Anyone else got this problem, or any ideas how to solve it?

You could at least provide the command line you ran and the exact programme you were trying to download, along with your OS and get_iplayer versions. We can't guess at those things.

It's possible you have corrupted cache files. Back up and delete the existing cache files ( for Windows, for Linux/Unix/OSX), then run get_iplayer again to rebuild them.

That has sorted the problem thanks. The message came up as soon as I opened get_iplayer, before I was even selecting a program to download.
